The 2025 “Keepers Release” from Maker’s Mark celebrates the distillery’s warehouse team—those responsible for hand-rotating barrels to ensure optimal aging. This limited-edition bourbon starts with fully matured, cask-strength Maker’s Mark aged six to seven years, then undergoes a dual stave-finishing process: one half aged for five weeks with one style of toasted American oak staves, the other for nine weeks with a second type. The two are blended equally and bottled at 54.6% ABV (109.2 proof), delivering a rich, complex sipping experience.
Tasting Notes:
-
Appearance: Deep amber with golden reflections.
-
Aroma: Notes of warm baking spice, dark caramel, toasted oak, vanilla bean, and dried fig.
-
Palate: Bold and layered, with spiced chocolate, molasses, and roasted pecans. Mid-palate flavors include toffee, dried fruit, and hints of pipe tobacco.
-
Finish: Long and structured with lingering cinnamon, toasted nuts, and drying oak.
Serving Suggestions:
Enjoy neat or with a splash of water to enhance its layered character. Also shines in a premium Old Fashioned, garnished with a toasted orange peel.
