Dark and intense, the 2020 Sangiovese Superiore Riserva Thea slowly opens in the glass with a dusty blend of black cherries, licorice and purple and blue florals. It flows across the palate with velvety textures and medium-bodied weight. A brisk, acidic core balances the mineral-tinged fruit. This leaves a coating of fine tannins as licorice and exotic spice nuances echo throughout. The 2020 is a powerful rendition of Thea that maintains excellent balance.
