Markovic Estates Bas Armagnac VSOP
Category | Armagnac |
Brand | Markovic Estates |
Origin | France, Armagnac, Bas-Armagnac |
"Armagnac is the oldest brandy (and liquor) recorded to be still distilled in the world. Markovic Estates keeps this tradition alive by sourcing the finest grapes from the Armagnac region in Gascony, southwest France.
More specifically from vineyards beside Armagnac-Ténarèze, an undulating area; the grapes grow in acidic, argillaceous and stony ground. Iron rust colors parts of the soil and these spots are called ’’sables fauves’’. These are distilled in the traditional way using column stills rather than the pot stills used in the production of cognac
The VSOP is aged in oak barrels for a minimum of 4 years
The result is fine Armagnac best enjoyed out of a brandy snifter, hand warmed, to release its complex and nuanced nose." -Markovic Estates
