Smooth with polished new wood flavors and fine black fruit, this wine has good potential. Subtle tannins back up its black currant and berry fruit. Drink from 2020.

The 2015 Magdeleine Bouhou is a tasty, straightforward offering to enjoy over the next few years. The blend is 90% Merlot and 10% Malbec, which adds a distinctive high-toned note to the bright, red-fleshed fruit. This is another absolutely joyous, delicious wine that overdelivers big time. There is nothing complicated here, just a beautifully harmonious, mid-weight and highly affordable wine, something Bordeaux does like no other region anywhere in the world. Simon Blanchard and Romain Bocchio consult since 2010 for Derenoncourt Consultants.

Solid, with a core of dark plum and boysenberry preserve flavors that are pure and focused, backed by light savory, alder and sanguine notes that add length and range on the finish. Drink now through 2021.
