Cantina di Montalcino Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2018
|Italy, Tuscany, Brunello di Montalcino
|Cantina di Montalcino
Purple red color, very decisive, rather limpid, with thick arches. The nose is intense and very persistent, of fine quality. The fruity sensation with blackberries, currants and cherries, which stand out among the other components, is what prevails. In the mouth the impact is pleasant, tasty, characterized by a strong alcohol well supported by rich tannins, but soft and right acidity.
The nose is savory and herbaceous, with notes of leather, soil and light woodiness, as well as a hint of cherry tomatoes and their leaves. The sweeter palate features strawberries, cherries and raspberries, plus darker fruit lingering in the background, before a peppery, dark chocolate finish.
The 2018 Brunello di Montalcino lifts up with an aromatic bouquet of crushed cherries giving way to a cedar spice box full of dried flowers and cloves. This is fruit-centric, soft textured, a bit one-dimensional, yet energetic and spry. It finishes with hints of licorice and red plum, leaving only a subtle coating of tannin to linger.
