Château-Cissac Cru Bourgeois Bordeaux Haut Medoc 2019
|Region||France, Bordeaux, Haut Medoc|
Dark, ruby-black center with crimson- and violet-staining tears around the glass. The nose is assertive, with black currant, bay leaf, new leather, and cedar spice. Good ripeness on the palate with a firm, muscular structure and detail and definition that go way beyond this price point. Gravel and graphite, black pipe tobacco, and espresso bean all emerge on the long finish. Drink 2022–2030.
This is a refined wine, elegantly structured and already showing a fine equilibrium between fruit and tannins. Its wood aging is also beginning to smooth the fruit's vibrancy. It has great promise and long-term aging.
