The 2019 Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Matto is a welcome addition to my recent tasting lineup, with sweet spring flowers, lime sorbet and hints of chalk dust forming its bouquet. This is silky and round upon entry, with a steely minerality and crisp orchard fruits taking on a hint of raw almond toward the close. This finishes sapid with medium length, leaving a slightly bitter twang of savory spice. This no-frills Verdicchio is simply a pleasure to taste.
