Filodivino Diana Lacrima di Morro d'Alba 2020
|Region||Italy, Marche, Lacrima di Morro d'Alba|
"Filodivino, nestled between the Adriatic Sea and the Apennine foothills, practices organic viticulture in the vineyards, protecting nature and minimizing the impact on the landscape. Intense red with shades of purple, floral bouquet adorned with roses, violets and lavender along with notes of wild berries. The flavor is mouth filling, with scents of berries and spicy notes. Soft tannin. Enjoy with pizza, charcuterie and cheese boards."
The sweetly floral 2020 Lacrima di Morro d'Alba Diana takes the usual pretty violet, lavender and stone dust that's inherent in the variety and adds a zesty hint of tangerine that really excites the senses. It's silky-smooth yet more grippy than expected, coming across as vividly fruity, both red and blue, yet also well framed by a mix of subtle tannin and savory spice. I find myself craving more follow-through in the finish, yet it's hard to complain, as pretty hints of blackberry and currant fade, leaving an incredibly fresh expression. The Diana has a 5% addition of Syrah, which really adds depth.
