Castorani Cadetto Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2017
|Region||Italy, Abruzzo, Montepulciano d'Abruzzo|
The 2017 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Cadetto is dark and moody in the glass, as notes of tobacco and earthy minerals give way to spiced black cherries. This is velvety yet a bit clumsy and almost flabby in feel, with creamy textures and savory wild berry fruits. Hints of fine tannin and minerals come through on the finish, as this ends structured with the slightest hint of heat.
Earthy aromas of clay, wet thyme and mentholated tobacco ride over a ripe brambleberry core in this red. It's rounded and juicy in feel, filled out by plenty of dark-berry flavors on the palate, with soft tannins giving this an accessible feel.
