Il Chiosso Fara 2016
|Region||Italy, Piedmont, Fara|
"Northern Piedmont terroir can give incredible wines in any aspect, Il Chiosso have set the goal to cultivate the vineyards in the most absolute respect for nature and its rhythms, in the most traditional ways. 70% Nebbiolo, 15% Vespolina, and 15% Uva Rara harvested in the Fara Vineyards. Matured in oak barrels for 22 months. Intense ruby red color tending to garnet. Taste dry, warm, velvety, of great complexity. Noble, elegant smell with exuberant notes of spices. Long live wine to match with red meats and cheeses."
Aromas of leather, camphor and underbrush follow over to the palate together with notes of salted game and dried cherry. Firm acidity and tight close-grained tannins leave an austere, rather astringent finish.
