The aromatics on the 2018 Loop are richer and more complex than previous years with a dense, broad slightly spicy, herby character that somehow manages to remain floral despite the intensity. Rich and even secondary (biscuity) aromas overlay all.
Bright, zesty, floral, mineral, intense attack that is balanced by a richness of super ripe citrus. The mid palate is at once weighty but light, rich but fresh. The finish is super long, a rich but with a fresh, focused acidity. The 2018 Loop is great now but, I believe, in 12-24 months' time will be evolve into something even better.
Food Pairing: Matches well to spicy food - Thai, Japanese, Indian, but works equally well with seafood, particularly oysters, as well as fat cheeses.
