Pierre Peters Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvée de Réserve

Pierre Peters Brut Blanc de Blancs Cuvée de Réserve

We are talking superb aromas: a riot of flowers, lobster and brioche. It's unusually ripe, dynamic and powerful, and also quite settled-tasting, with a long deep clinging finish. As good as many others' vintage wines, thanks in part, to a sensible 10 g.l. RS.

Wine SpectatorIn this dry Champagne, a pretty floral note wafts through the flavors of fresh quince, lemon peel, briny mineral and green plum. This is delicate and precise, with a very fine texture and lightly chalky finish. Disgorged February 2011. Drink now through 2016.

Wine AdvocateThe NV Brut Cuvee de Reserve is striking. It shows fabulous cut and definition in its fruit, expressive aromatics all backed up by plenty of underlying structure. A bright, mineral laced finish rounds things out in style. This is superb entry-level wine from one of Champagne's top producers. The Cuvee Reserve is 100% Chardonnay. This year's release is based on 2008 (60%), with reserve wines going back to 1988, precisely 1988, 1990, 1993 and 1995-2007 (except 1999 and 2003). Dosage is 6.7 grams. Disgorged February 2011. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.
