Distiller's Note:

Jimmy Red corn was already making waves in the culinary world when we opened our doors in 2013. Named for James Island just over the bridge from Charleston, Jimmy Red was a legendary moonshiner’s corn that had dwindled down to a mere 2 cobs following the death of the last man known to grow it. This special release bourbon is made from a wheated mashbill and aged 7 years.

Tasting Notes: Rich layers of baking spice, graham, caramel, and tobacco with a pleasing finish.

From Whiskey Advocate: This release includes wheat alongside the typical Jimmy Red corn in the mashbill. It takes a few minutes to open up, but it rewards your patience with a lovely nose of cherry gelato, caramel hard candies, brown sugar, chocolate-covered berries, and peanut butter. The palate is chewy and well-textured, with salted peanuts, barrel spice, pepper, vanilla, oak, and lush black cherries that linger through the finish. SCORE: 90
