2023 Tua Rita Rosso dei Notri

Lovely crushed berry and cherry aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with bright acidity and a crunchy and delicious finish. A blend of mostly merlot and cabernet sauvignon with some syrah and cabernet franc. Drink now.

A delightful, contemporary take on the Super Tuscan blend, with more levity than most. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Cabernet Franc, the Merlot is from younger vines in the same vineyards that supply fruit for the estate’s iconic Redigaffi. Vinified in concrete with no wood, expect perfumed strawberry and cherry fruit, dried thyme, blonde tobacco, liquorice and fresh rosemary — but in a delightfully medium-bodied and refreshing style, without the potent, dense tannins of a lot of its peers.

The 2023 Rosso di Notri, the estate’s entry-level red, is a fine choice for drinking over the next few years. Succulent red cherry, tobacco, spice and leather are nicely pushed forward in this refreshing, juicy red blend of 30% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Syrah and 20% Cabernet Franc.

The Tua Rita 2023 Rosso dei Notri is the estate's entry-level blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese. This year represents the first time that the wine is almost entirely made in cement (with a little bit of stainless steel). This shift gives more prominence to the wine's primary fruit and general brightness. There is redcurrant, wild strawberry, blue flower and sweet earth. This is an expressive, albeit simple red blend with good freshness to close.
