Winemaker's Notes
La Poderina is an estate in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area of Montalcino. Ripe raspberry and red cherry are joined by blue flower (violet, lilac or lavender) and spice aromas that are given a bump from the Petit Verdot. Juicy and fresh with a clean finish, it's a delightful wine for a variety of occasions from parties to a dinner for two! Made only in stainless steel, no oak.

Crunchy berries, red cherries and some stones on the nose. Juicy, medium-bodied on the palate with crisp tannins and fruit followed by a bone-dry, concise finish. Pithy and almost a bit mineral at the end. Shows really good crunchiness and drinkability despite its simplicity.
The 2022 Rosso di Montalcino offers a strong mineral signature in front of bright cherry and cassis. The effect is simple, but the layering is elegant and attractive. You feel the finely grained tannins, and ultimately, this wine drinks with a bigger style compared to your standard Rosso. These are great results, especially at this price point. Production is 40,100 bottles.
The 2022 Rosso di Montalcino is unmistakenly a wine produced by La Poderina. Chalk dust, lavender, blackberries and white pepper make up its bouquet. This is spicy and lifted in feel with masses of ripe red and blue fruits, all propelled by zesty acidity. A saline tinge lingers as the 2022 tapers off with decent length and concentration while repeating its spicy persona throughout.
