Winemaker's Notes
Barbaresco DOCG Argè by Piazzo Comm. Armando is an elegant representative of the Langhe, a region renowned for its refined red wines. Obtained from the Nebbiolo grape variety, symbol of this Piedmontese area, this Barbaresco embodies the essence of the terroir with its complexity and structure. The aging takes place traditionally in oak barrels, which give the wine a perfect balance between slender tannins and distinctive aromas.
Tasting Note
The aromas open with floral notes of rose and violet, followed by hints of red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, with light spicy and woody nuances. On the palate, it is harmonious, with marked freshness and a long, persistent finish that recalls earthy and licorice notes. The Magnum format further enhances the evolution and longevity of this masterpiece, making it ideal for special occasions.
Food Pairing
It pairs splendidly with red meats, roasts, and aged cheeses, perfect for those wishing to explore the nobility of Nebbiolo in its most authentic expressions.

The Piazzo Comm. Armando 2020 Barbaresco Pajorè shows a rather plump and ripe side of Nebbiolo with a soft and accessible drinking style. You don't need to wait much longer to enjoy this fruit-forward wine. Black cherry and dried currant cede to light spice and powdered licorice root. Production is limited to 1,500 bottles.
Argè is named for Armando and Gemma, the husband and wife duo who raised a family and grew a winery. This classic Barbaresco, a blend of different crus, lifts out of the glass with aromas of cherry, macerated raspberry, licorice, dried rose and underbrush. The elegant palate lifts with bright acidity and fine tannins with flavors of cranberry, sweet and savory spice and dried thyme on the finish. Drink Now–2035. — Jeff Porter
