2018 Grilos DOC Dao Red Blend

The 2018 Grilos Tinto is a blend of 50% Tinta Roriz, 30% Touriga Nacional and 20% Jaen, all aged for six months in an equal mixture of stainless steel and second use French oak. It comes in at 13% alcohol. Pretty similar to the Reserva blend but not quite as ripe and not as heavily oaked, this is fruit forward, tasty and fairly soft. There's a bit of grip on the finish, however, and this does have some structure in its youth. While this will show best on the young and youngest side, it's a very nice value for the price. It has just a bit of distinction.
